hypocrite.

I was getting on the plane yesterday to fly home,
solo this time.

so I did what any lonely person would do,
grabbed something to read & had a conversation with myself.

seriously... these were the things I grabbed out of my bag to read on the airplane.
could they not be anymore opposite?

and it got me thinking...

who am i?

I read a spiritual book, but can't wait to read my cosmo.

I listen to rap music on the way to church.

I go out to eat/drink after I go to the gym.

I stay away from drama and love all of my friends, but watch every episode of real housewives.

I own a clothing boutique, but wore a Target dress to market.

I have a college degree, but still struggle to spell restaurant correctly.

I closed the bar down, but was at the early service at church the next morning.

I am saving money for a car, but bought myself a MK purse.

how do you define this person?
and would I judge this person?

and as different as these things are...
I am both.

I really wanted to read BOTH of those.
I really did ALL of those things, all while feeling true to myself,
yet when I think them out, they contradict.

or do they?

____

I got to reading
What We Talk About When We Talk About God
first.

and what do you know, Rob Bell feels me on this:

pg.55-56:

"we are both large and small,
strong and weak,
formidable and faint...

we get stuck in traffic on day and find ourselves cursing
within seconds, while another time we sit with a friend who's dying
of cancer and are filled with an ocean of compassion.

the slightest barbed word from a coworker can cause our blood to boil,
and yet as a friend comes down the aisle at her wedding our heart feels like it's
a thousand miles wide...

we're an exotic blend of
awesome
and pathetic,
extraordinary
and
lame,
big
and
small.

we hear about people climbing Mount Everest blind,
and we hear about serial killers opening fire in a crowded
theater,
and we're still surprised..."

____

needless to say,

I was tired...
and I finished that whole dang book.

and today,

today I will read my Cosmopolitan Magazine.

judge me.

how do they know?

Ever take those fun quizzes online?

I don't either usually.

until everyone starts doing it, and then I think there might be something to it, and there I go-
being just like the rest of them!

Anyway, I took the "My Personality Type" quiz here

-do it-

Insanely accurate, and I am not sharing just so you can learn all about me, but you should take it and make everyone in your life take it. It is so much easier to get along with others when you understand their quirks.

____

I got

The Spontaneous Idealist

(a lot to read, but y'all, craaaaazy)

Spontaneous Idealists are masters of communication and very amusing and gifted entertainers. Fun and variety are guaranteed when they are around. However, they are sometimes somewhat too impulsive in dealing with others and can hurt people without really meaning to do so, due to their direct and sometimes critical nature.

This personality type is a keen and alert observer; they miss nothing which is going on around them. In extreme cases, they tend to be oversensitive and exaggeratedly alert and are inwardly always ready to jump. Life for them is an exciting drama full of emotionality. However, they quickly become bored when things repeat themselves and too much detailed work and care is required. Their creativity, their imaginativeness and their originality become most noticeable when developing new projects and ideas - they then leave the meticulous implementation of the whole to others. On the whole, Spontaneous Idealists attach great value to their inner and outward independence and do not like accepting a subordinate role. They therefore have problems with hierarchies and authorities.

(they literally nailed that.)

If you have a Spontaneous Idealist as your friend, you will never be bored; with them, you can enjoy life to the full and celebrate the best parties. At the same time, they are warm, sensitive, attentive and always willing to help. If Spontaneous Idealists have just fallen in love, the sky is full of violins and their new partners are showered with attention and affection. But, unfortunately, it soon becomes boring for them once the novelty has worn off. Boring everyday life in a partnership is not for them. However, should the partner manage to keep their curiosity alive and not let routine and familiarity gain the upper hand, Spontaneous Idealists can be inspiring and loving partners.

(I am serious... how do they know me??)

I just feel like my mom is loling reading these:

spontaneous, enthusiastic, idealistic, extroverted, theoretical, emotional, relaxed, friendly, optimistic, charming, helpful, independent, individualistic, creative, dynamic, lively, humorous, full of zest for life, imaginative, changeable, adaptable, loyal, sensitive, inspiring, sociable, communicative, erratic, curious, open, vulnerable

life.

When I say that my life should be a reality show,
I truly am not being dramatic or self involved.

it is just unimaginable the things that have happened in the last year.
but even more so, the last 3 months alone would be tv worthy.

I mean, a bunch of shows have to script things together or make arrangements for something fun to happen... not here. nope, crazy follows me. (or I attract it)

and I try real hard to be boring. I do!

but this is my life & I will own it.
every insane piece of it.

the good, the bad, & the ugly. lol

without too much detail, here is my weekend:

______

Friday:

an unexpected reunion.
chuy's happy hour.
an olympic ceremony party.
adults puking at said party.
 krizia turned 25!
-2 bottles of champs were sent to our table.
-taco bell at 3am

as crazy as it sounds, I will have you know it was actually a calm evening considering the circumstances. lol

and seeing Krizia, Jess, Derion, Chels,& Carlyle was great.
it is so fun growing up together!

____

Saturday:

haha.

I did end up opening at PLT and then running around all day until about 10pm.
but getting home and sitting on my couch was perfection.

____

Sunday:

reunions continued.
mimosas.
bloody mary bar.
we laughed so hard at brunch that we had people request to sit with us, but also had two separate tables ask to be moved away. (it is what it is)
shopping.
coffee to keep us alive.
rap music.
crying at dinner.
patron shots.
dive bars.
darts.

______

I want to tell you that I will be the most boring person ever for the next few weeks,
except I leave this weekend for Vegas.
8.of.us.girls.

hellllllp me I'm tired!

(but seriously someone call Andy Cohen and get a camera crew.)

short, sweet, and right to the point.

__________

19 Hard Things You Need To Do To Be Successful

You have to do the hard things.
  • You have to make the call you’re afraid to make.
  • You have to get up earlier than you want to get up.
  • You have to give more than you get in return right away.
  • You have to care more about others than they care about you.
  • You have to fight when you are already injured, bloody, and sore.
  • You have to feel unsure and insecure when playing it safe seems smarter.
  • You have to lead when no one else is following you yet.
  • You have to invest in yourself even though no one else is.
  • You have to look like a fool while you’re looking for answers you don’t have.
  • You have to grind out the details when it’s easier to shrug them off.
  • You have to deliver results when making excuses is an option.
  • You have to search for your own explanations even when you’re told to accept the “facts.”
  • You have to make mistakes and look like an idiot.
  • You have to try and fail and try again.
  • You have to run faster even though you’re out of breath.
  • You have to be kind to people who have been cruel to you.
  • You have to meet deadlines that are unreasonable and deliver results that are unparalleled.
  • You have to be accountable for your actions even when things go wrong.
  • You have to keep moving towards where you want to be no matter what’s in front of you.
You have to do the hard things. The things that no one else is doing. The things that scare you. The things that make you wonder how much longer you can hold on.
Those are the things that define you. Those are the things that make the difference between living a life of mediocrity or outrageous success.
The hard things are the easiest things to avoid. To excuse away.
To pretend like they don’t apply to you.
The simple truth about how ordinary people accomplish outrageous feats of success is that they do the hard things that smarter, wealthier, more qualified people don’t have the courage — or desperation — to do.
Do the hard things. You might be surprised at how amazing you really are!!

who is she?! pt. 3

pt. 3!

_______
Hey, hey!
Happy Friiiiiiiday.

This week I am introducing the fabulous Chelsey!

I have known her since 1st grade.
we literally go waaaaaay back.

She is lots of fun, but also very smart & works very hard.

Meet Chelsey:

-What is she wearing?
Lately you can find me in pretty much the same outfit every day! I've been wearing Not Your Daughters Jeans Leggins (don't judge me please! They're so comfy/flattering and worth every penny!), a loose top, oversized boyfriend cardigan, and either over the knee equestrian boots or combat boots!
-What is she listening to?
Uhh I can NOT stop jamming Tesselate by Ellie Goulding!

*(oh my. love love love me some Ellie!!)
-Where is she going?
I'm going to Babies R Us today because my friend is having her baby shower tomorrow!
-What is she reading?
Currently 3 books, depending on my mood! Eat, Pray, Love (for like the 50th time!), The Buddha Walks Into A Bar (hilarious…thanks Blair Foster!), and The illustrated Encyclopedia of Buddhist Wisdom. It's a great break down of all the different facets of Buddhism if that's something you're interested in!
-What is she working on?
I'm working on house hunting with my husband! And it's a lot more work than either of us thought!
-What is her favorite part of the day?
Taking off my bra, meditating, kissing my husband, and seeing our cat and guinea pig. And in that exact order! Haha!

-What is she eating?
I could lie here and say carrots. But I just ate a Dunkin Donut…

*(amen girrrl!)
-What is she drinking?
Dunkin Donut coffee for the first time! It was pretty delish!
-What is she loving?
I am LOVING the new GIANT vanity we just built in our room. It's as big as a desk and I feel like I have so much storage and space to get pretty every day! And it's in a zen color scheme and has buddhas and bamboo sitting on it. It's definitely my "me" space.

-What is she watching?
All week I've just been watching Girls over and over…and over. It's basically my favorite thing ever at the moment.
-What is her favorite quote?

Thanks for participating Chelsey!
